Wind in the Sky
Wind in the Sky is a glass maccha cup created using the pâte de verre technique, which allows for the creation of intricate and nuanced colours and textures. The rim of the cup is five-sided and irregular. It features a deep blue and a lighter sky blue that gracefully fades into white at the lip, symbolizing a transition from depth to light. Wind in the Sky invites you to engage in a moment of peaceful reflection. This cup is not just a vessel for tea but a catalyst for a deeper connection with the present moment, encouraging a contemplative and serene experience. Designed specifically for enjoying maccha, a tea drank below 80°C (176°F).

Drinking maccha at home
1. Boil your kettle and pour a few cups of water into a pot. Wait till it cools to less than 80° C (176°F).
2. Place the following items on a table neatly: pot of hot water, maccha, maccha cup, small spoon, whisk, small tea towel, and a receptacle for discarded water.
You may also want to have steamed milk and sweets on hand.
3. Pour a little hot water in the cup and swish it around to warm the cup. Discard the water.
4. Wipe the cup dry with the tea towel.
5. Spoon about 5 mg (less than ¼ teaspoon) of maccha into the cup, pour in about 180 ml (7 oz.) of water, and whip with the whipper till frothy. You may add steamed milk.
6. Before drinking the tea, view the cup by turning it around in your hands.
7. Lift the bowl with both hands to drink the tea.
8. Once you finish your tea, view the cup again.
9. Wipe the cup with a tea towel.
Mindful relaxation is the aim of the tea ceremony.
