Rising Sun
Rising Sun features dynamic movements of shads of red, the colour of the rising sun, against soft white background. It proclaims a fine, bright day to come. Unusual colour for a maccha cup, it invites the holder to view the scenery of the vessel. “Scenery” is regularly used as a word describing the colours and patterns of a maccha cup. This piece invites you to have hope for the day and for many more days to come. Designed specifically for enjoying maccha, a tea drank below 80°C (176°F).

Drinking maccha at home
1. Boil your kettle and pour a few cups of water into a pot. Wait till it cools to less than 80° C (176°F).
2. Place the following items on a table neatly: pot of hot water, maccha, maccha cup, small spoon, whisk, small tea towel, and a receptacle for discarded water.
You may also want to have steamed milk and sweets on hand.
3. Pour a little hot water in the cup and swish it around to warm the cup. Discard the water.
4. Wipe the cup dry with the tea towel.
5. Spoon about 5 mg (less than ¼ teaspoon) of maccha into the cup, pour in about 180 ml (7 oz.) of water, and whip with the whipper till frothy. You may add steamed milk.
6. Before drinking the tea, view the cup by turning it around in your hands.
7. Lift the bowl with both hands to drink the tea.
8. Once you finish your tea, view the cup again.
9. Wipe the cup with a tea towel.
